Since 1945, the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation, established in his memory, with its headquarters in Kottayam, has played a significant role in promoting art, education and culture in Kerala. The DC Kizhakemuri Foundation annually awards educational scholarships to indigent students, enabling them to pursue their educational goals across different fields. The foundation has, over the years, worked towards promoting the reading habit across Kerala and instituted an award to the best rural libraries.
