
The 2-year program is divided into 4 semesters with an average duration of 6 months each. The college is affiliated to the APJ ABDUL KALAM Technological University (KTU).
The DCSMAT city campus in Trivandrum is located within the Infra Film and Television Park. A suburban city campus, it is situated in close proximity to major industrial and infrastructural hubs in the city. Spread over 2.5 acres DCSMAT contains spacious studios, state of the art library, an extensively equipped computer lab and a material museum. Academicians, professionals and domain specialists conduct the courses at DCSMAT, offering students an exhaustive and holistic education that is certain to be a bedrock in their professional careers. An entrepreneurship club serves as an incubation support cell, facilitating entrepreneurial ideas among students.

Radio DC is a non-commercial community radio operated by the DC School of Management and Technology Trivandrum. It is the first private FM community radio station in Kerala. Transmitting at 90.4 MHz. the channel broadcasts programs created by students and faculty from the various educational streams taught at the campus.

The Student Ownership Programme (SOP)at our Trivandrum campus is a mentoring programme unique to DCSMAT. The SOP initiative helps students develop additional skills, besides excellence in the academic curriculum, required to be an effective manager. A team based approach helps in the personal and professional development of participants. A member of the faculty is assigned a group of students to help them develop soft skills like reading, building a vocabulary, writing effectively and listening.
The Case Methodology model of teaching is characterised by in-depth analysis and discussions based on simulations of real-life business scenarios and their challenges. This dynamic pedagogical method offers a range of benefits that significantly enhance the learning experience for our students. It encourages our students to think critically and evaluate different viewpoints before arriving at conclusions. This helps them recognize biases, assumptions, and logical fallacies, leading to well-rounded analyses.
Our ‘Executive Presentation’ program at DCSMAT is improves a student’s communication and public speaking skills, specifically designed build core competence in making engaging corporate presentations among budding managers.
The innovation hub at DCSMAT is a dynamic space that fosters and nurtures a broad range of entrepreneurial ideas that emerge from the student community. One such successful initiative was the collaboration of Visual Arts and Architecture students in designing and producing high-quality clothing using an in-house loom. The products developed eventually found their way into the market.
‘Newspaper Analysis & Business Quiz’ are invaluable tools for our students, providing them with a structured approach to dissecting and interpreting news articles. This activity offers numerous benefits pertinent to their academic and professional development. Our students often grapple with the challenge of connecting theoretical concepts with real-world applications. Newspapers cover a wide array of economic and business-related topics. Engaging with this module enables our students stay abreast of market trends, policy changes and industry developments. This knowledge proves invaluable when they make informed business decisions as part of their course. Business management students also participate regularly in a weekly quiz that features topics from various aspects of business, organised and conducted online by Business Standard.
DCSMAT Trivandrum, has over the years, associated with the Trivandrum Management Association (TMA) affiliated with the All India Management Association (AIMA), a pre-eminent body of professional managers dedicated to promoting excellence in management across India. TMA, established in 1985, boasts a membership of nearly 300 individuals, over 30 corporate entities, and nearly 300 students. The Trivandrum Management Association’s Student Chapteractively participates in numerous management events and competitions. This involvement not only provides invaluable insights, refines different aspects of their managerial skills but also extends their professional networks, critical in the competitive world of business management.
DCSMAT, Trivandrum takes forward the vision and commitment of our founder to socially relevant entrepreneurship, an idea that an institution business is bound by a gamut of responsibilities to the communities from which it draws sustenance.
Students participate in various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility, a learning that extends beyond their classrooms. They participate in various community development programs activities – volunteering at NGOs, organising health and blood donation camps, implementing campaigns that address prevalent health issues and conducting educational workshops. These efforts, in no small measure, address pressing social issues and contribute to the uplift of underprivileged communities.
FORZA
FORZA is an annual webinar series hosted online by DC School of Management and Technology Trivandrum. It is a platform for students, educators and parents to relieve them from stress and relax for a while through entertaining sessions. The webinar covers broad areas of healthcare, entertainment, economy & finance, tourism and travel.
Operating under the aegis of the Kerala Startup Mission – DCSMAT’s IEDC is an entrepreneurial skill development program and an innovation hub. The cell actively nurtures entrepreneurial and product development ideas that emerge from our student community. A FOSS cell on the campus encourages the use of free and open-source technologies for data analysis in conjunction with ICFOSS.
At DCSMAT a soft skill development program named the ‘Evening Presentation’ assists students in improving their general communication abilities, public speaking, and presentation skills and in overcoming stage fright. Additionally, the program focuses on enhancing leadership qualities and analytical skills in our students.
AHAM is a corporate social responsibility group comprising students at DCSMAT Trivandrum. Motivated by a perspective rooted in humanism, AHAM focuses on encouraging students to examine, study and conceive solutions to the social issues that they confront as a part of DCSMAT’s community engagement initiatives. The members participate in individual uplift and environmentally sustainable community development programs at various locations in the vicinity of our campus.
