D C School of Architecture and Design Trivandrum, advanced by DC Books and ventured by D C KIZHEKEMURI Foundation has exceeded expectations for architecture for the past two years. The college has expanded its field of design to B. Des (Bachelor of Design) to cater to the requirement and interests of today’s time and create the world. The scholastic reasoning of DCSAAD points to an interactive teaching-learning environment, and constant hands-on learning.
There are 3 specialisations for the program
The four-year B.des (Bachelor of Design) course in DCSAAD, Trivandrum supply intrigue and progressive information of design in a centered understanding of an area of specialization suited to the students’ interest and professional design practice. The following are the areas of focus: UI and UX, Product Design and Spatial Design or Interior Design.
The candidates who have
passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) conducted by the Board of HSE Kerala
or examination equivalent there to as approved by KTU with the minimum marks as
prescribed by AICTE are eligible to apply for the entrance examination. (At
least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in
the qualifying Examination) or Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied
sector.(Ref: AICTE Approval Process Hand Book 2024-27, Section:8.2, IV, Page
No:119).No rounding off of percentage of marks to the nearest higher integer is
permitted.
The four-year long course of B. Des in DCSAAD, Trivandrum, ought to create the scope for integrating coordinated experiential and explorative learning in order to achieve high degree of inventive development and addressing the latest challenges, theoretical and intelligent problem-solving aptitudes in a functional and appealing way. The course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the college is affiliated to APJ ABDUL KALAM technological University or commonly known as Kerala Technological University.
The program enables learners to achieve authentic and personally meaningful learning goals by understanding cultural, social, and technological developments in line with their individual interests.
The UI and UX specialization at DCSAAD provide a comprehensive objectivized training that points to integrate a well-rounded instruction in interaction plan. Students will acquire knowledge in an assortment topics, including UCD, UX research, UI design, usability engineering, Physical computing, AR/VR, and AI&ML for UX. The program is planned to prepare students with the vital aptitudes and information to become capable interaction architects.
The spatial design/ Interior design program at DCSAAD envisages the science and craftsmanship of understanding and making utilitarian and engaging insides spaces inside a building. Interior Plan is a perfect focal area for those candidates who are inquisitive about building a solid career within the field of spatial making. Not only it upgrades abilities like imagination, creative problem solving, but it also confers well-suited information around the subject.
The Product Design specialization at DCSAAD is at par with issues related to the design evolution of an immense range of products, services and experiences. The discipline encourages students to research and learn about the basics of design, knowledge of ergonomics and to deal with wide range of materials and fabricating strategies as well as exploring and finding their own aesthetical style.
