"AHAM" CSR Club DCSMAT Trivandrum

DCSMAT Trivandrum students actively engage in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities as part of their commitment to creating a positive impact in society and uniquely branded as “AHAM”. These initiatives demonstrate a strong sense of social responsibility and a desire to contribute meaningfully beyond the classroom. Our students participate in various community engagement activities, including volunteering at local NGOs, organizing health camps, and conducting educational workshops. These efforts aim to address pressing social issues and uplift underprivileged communities. DCSMAT Trivandrum students initiate health and wellness programs, such as organizing health camps, blood donation drives, and awareness campaigns on prevalent health issues. These activities contribute to overall community well-being.

World Cancer Day – Raising Awareness about Cancer

 On February 6, 2023, Dr. Sajeed A,DMRT MD(RT), RCC, Trivandrum a renowned cancer specialist from RCC, gave a talk on raising awareness about cancer at DCSMAT on behalf of the CSR club(AHAM). The talk was organized by DCSMAT based on the World Cancer Day campaign. Dr. Sajeed began his talk by discussing the importance of early detection and treatment of cancer. He said that cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, but that many cancers are curable if they are detected and treated early. Dr. Sajeed then went on to talk about the different types of cancer and the risk factors for each type. He also discussed the signs and symptoms of cancer and the importance of getting regular cancer screenings. Dr. Sajeed A concluded his talk by encouraging everyone to take steps to reduce their risk of cancer and to get regular cancer screenings. He said that cancer is a serious disease, but that it is also a preventable disease. The talk was well-attended and informative. Dr. Sajeed’s presentation was clear and concise, and he answered questions from the audience in a comprehensive and informative way. The talk was a valuable contribution to the World Cancer Day campaign. It helped to raise awareness about cancer and the importance of early detection and treatment.

Blood Donation by students from DCSMAT

Students from DCSMAT have donated blood multiple times. Blood donation is an important social responsibility as all know. But still people are reluctant to donate blood due to several reasons. In this context students at DCSMAT are committed to making a difference. Their blood donations have helped to save many lives, and their dedication to this cause is commendable. Their dedication to blood donation is a reminder of the importance of social responsibility and the power of working together to make a difference. The dedication of DCSMAT students for donating blood is a testament to their strong sense of social responsibility. They understand that they have a role to play in making the world a better place, and they are committed to doing their part.

Blood Donation Camp 

On July 27, 2023, a blood donation camp was organized at the Malabar Hall, DCSMAT Trivandrum. The outreach blood donation camp organised in collaboration with POL-BLOOD and RCC Blood Bank in Trivandrum was a huge success. In this camp, 60 volunteers registered for blood donation, and out of these, 21 volunteers donated blood. The blood donation camp was a well-organized event, with volunteers from DCSMAT students and Aneesh sir from POL-BLOOD (an initiative by Kerala Police) helping to register donors, collect blood, and provide refreshments. The camp was also well-attended, with people from all walks of life coming to donate blood. It helped to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation and to collect blood that will be used to help patients in need.

The blood donation camp was a success that would not have been possible without the dedication of the volunteers from the RCC blood bank. They worked tirelessly to ensure that the camp ran smoothly and that all donors had a positive experience. The camp was also a success because of the generosity of the donors. They came from all walks of life to donate blood, knowing that their donation would help save lives. The blood donation camp was a reminder of the importance of community spirit and the power of working together to make a difference.

Sammohan National Festival For The Differently Abled

The SAMMOHAN National Festival for the Differently Abled was conducted by Magic Planet Trivandrum on the 25th and 26th of February 2023. The students from different institutions from different parts of India were gathered and different cultural programs were conducted, showcasing the remarkable talents and capabilities of differently-abled students from across the country.

The students of the DC School Of Management and Technology Trivandrum have volunteered for the program. The helping hand didn’t end with volunteering, the management, alumni, students, and staff members also collected a small sum of money and gave it to Magic Planet. The contribution made by the management, faculty, non-teaching staff, students, and alumni helped to raise rupees 1,50,000. The college’s contribution was rupees 75,000 out of which 21,750 was in kind and the rest 53,250 was in cash. The staff members of DCSMAT institutions Trivandrum have collectively contributed rupees 41,835 and the students and alumni have collectively contributed rupees 33,165. The institution also provided its two buses along with its drivers free of cost to Magic Planet during the days of SAMMOHAN.
