Dr. Sheeja K.P. completed her undergraduate studies (B.Arch) in 1988 at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli, and earned a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University, Chennai, in 1999. She obtained her Ph.D. from Kerala University in 2015. Prior to joining academia, she accumulated six years of industrial experience. In 1994, she began her academic career as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.
Throughout her career, she has held various academic positions, including Associate Professor at the Government Engineering College, Mananthavady, Wayanad, and Professor and Head at both Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology and the College of Engineering, Trivandrum. After retiring from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum in April 2021, she served as a Professor at the College of Architecture, Trivandrum, from August 2022 to May 2024. Currently, she holds the position of Principal at the DC School of Architecture and Design, a role she assumed on September 2, 2024.

Dr. Sheeja K.P.’s research focuses on “Timber Temples of Central Travancore in Kerala,” with broader interests in Temple Architecture, Traditional Architecture, Timber Architecture, and Disaster Management.

She has served as an external guide for MIID PG thesis at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Additionally, she has been involved in several design projects, including the hostel building at the Government College of Engineering, Idukki, and the Academic Block at Government Polytechnic, Vandiperiyar, under the KIIFB project.
