Explore Diverse Careers in Design: B.Design KS-DAT Exam 2025

Most often, when the word ‘design’ is mentioned in the context of an education, the first thing that comes to mind is fashion design, with most people unaware of fascinating array of career options in other streams of design. Quality design education programs are limited in India and it is in this scenario that the four year bachelor’s graduate program (B.Design) offered at the DC School of Architecture and Design assumes significance, training students in UI/UX Design, Spatial and Interior Design and Product Design.

Eligibility:

  • A minimum of 45% marks in any subject combination in the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination. Reserved category candidates need a minimum of 40%.
  • Relevant D-Voc qualifications are also acceptable.
  • OCI candidates are considered only for NRI or supernumerary seats and not for seats reserved for Indian citizens.

 

Selection Process: Government seat allocation is based on the Kerala State Design Aptitude Test (KS-DAT) conducted by the LBS Centre. The KS-DAT exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions divided as follows:

  • Social and Basic Sciences (10 questions, 10th-grade level),
  • General Knowledge (20 questions),
  • English (20 questions),
  • Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude (20 questions),
  • Design Awareness (30 questions).

 

However, candidates must qualify in KS-DAT, NATA, UCEED, NID-DAT, NIFT, or equivalent national-level tests.
